Following the ideals of our Foundress, Maria Ines Teresa, the spirit of joy, simplicity and trust must reign in our Congregation.
“I have come down from heaven not to do my own will
but the will of him who sent me.” (Jn. 6:38)
Since the heart of our spirituality is the fulfillment of the Divine Will, we faithfully follow the charism of our Mother Foundress living this Spirituality as: MISSIONARY, PRIESTLY, MARIAN AND EUCHARIST.
MISSIONARY. In our Missionary Family we are missionaries not only by going to non-Christian countries, but in any town or country, that we are placed by God’s will, or in any duty to be performed, we are convinced that we can save an infinite number of souls, by lovingly offering up our prayers, sufferings and carrying our works of each day. Uniting these to the merits of Christ, no matter how insignificant they may seem to us, we glorify God and save souls.
PRIESTLY. As Christ offers himself to the Father in the perpetual sacrifice, for the salvation of mankind, our priestly spirituality will lead us to the offering of our entire being to God, like a priest and a pleasing victim of our own sacrifice.
MARIAN. We love the Virgin Mary with a delicate and tender love. We have special predilection to our Lady Mary of Guadalupe who is the main patroness of our Congregation, due to a promess that our Lady of Guadalupe did to Mother Maria Ines. We approach her as our sweet mother, our safe haven, our caring teacher, to whom we entrust the conversion and sanctification of souls.
EUCHARISTIC. Our charism has its center in the Sacramental Jesus, the guide, love and strength of our vocation. The Eucharist is our strength. It builds-up and renews our spiritual life and fraternal communion. The Eucharist unites us to the Trinity, and makes us one with the Sisters, in the love that sacrifices itself to death for the salvation of the world.
JOY. The smile is and must be in all the Poor Clare Missionary Sisters their characteristic, because that smile implies a loving YES to the Will of God, joy that springs from a grateful heart and in love with God for the precious calling and gift of our religious vocation, joy of knowing that one is called and loved by God.
